I, too, wondered whether I could not sell something and succeed in life. I am almost sixty years old and for some time I have been good for nothing and selling even less.

At the end of thirty years Stephen Friedman Gallery went bankrupt and left me with his debts. Finally the idea of inventing something insincere crossed my mind and I set to work straightaway - I will sell my failures and willingly exhibit all my guilt.
